In June 2024, New Line Cinema announced an untitled movie written and directed by Lee Cronin, set to release on April 17, 2026. Later, in December 2024, it was revealed that this secret project was actually a new version of The Mummy. The film is being made by Blumhouse Productions, Atomic Monster, and Doppelgängers, in partnership with New Line Cinema.
In March 2025, actors Jack Reynor and Laia Costa officially joined the cast as the main stars of the film. Over the next few months, more actors were added — including Verónica Falcón, May Calamawy, May Elghety, Natalie Grace, Shylo Molina, and Billie Roy. In July 2025, Hayat Kamille also joined the cast, completing a strong and talented lineup.
