After starring in Zach Cregger’s hit horror movie Weapons, Abrams is reuniting with the director for the Resident Evil reboot. Cregger described Abrams’ character as “an avatar” from the game — basically just a normal guy. He explained: “He’s not particularly good at combat in any way, shape, or form. He’s athletic, but he’s not an athlete, he’s just a guy.
The director added that it was fun to imagine how a regular person would react to something terrifying, like being attacked by a mutant dog. He said Abrams is perfect for the role because he’s so natural and entertaining to watch.
Resident Evil Movie Plot
The new Resident Evil movie follows Bryan (played by Abrams), a medical courier. One night, he suddenly finds himself in a terrifying race for survival as chaos spreads all around him. Director Zach Cregger explained that the film takes place at the same time as the events of Resident Evil 2, but it tells a brand‑new story.
He said: “I like to think that everything that’s going on in the police station could be happening in this world. This is just another dude on another mission on the other side of town and what’s going on with him.”
