Assi Movie Story

Parima is a school teacher from Kerala living in Delhi with her husband Vinay and their young son. They live a simple and happy middle-class life. One night, while coming back home from a staff gathering, Parima is kidnapped near a metro station by a group of young men.

They brutally attack her and leave her badly injured on a railway track, thinking she will not survive. A passerby finds her and takes her to the hospital. She survives, but she suffers deep physical and emotional pain after the incident.

The case quickly becomes national news. It is shown as another shocking crime in Delhi. The film also highlights a serious issue, saying that around 80 rape cases are reported every day in India, which explains the meaning behind the title “Assi.”

The real struggle starts when the police step in. The case is handled by Sanjay, played by Jatin Goswami. He is honest but also a bit practical in his approach. Raavi meets Kartik, played by Kumud Mishra. He knows her from the past and has his own painful story.

The police catch the suspects early using CCTV footage. But things are not easy after that. Parima is badly hurt. Her eyesight is affected for some time. Because of this, she cannot पहचान (identify) the accused in a lineup. She cannot even recognize their voices.

The situation becomes more difficult. Society shows little support. There is stigma around the case.

In court, there are legal limits. The defense lawyer is aggressive. Parima and her family feel helpless and frustrated.

There are signs of corruption, like bribery, changed evidence, and careless work. Vinay tries to take care of his wife and protect his son from media attention and social pressure. At the same time, Parima faces social isolation. Her school keeps distance to avoid trouble. Neighbours gossip and blame her. The story turns into a courtroom drama. The defence lawyer tries to blame Parima. He questions her character, her clothes, and her actions to make her look wrong. A strict female judge listens quietly as the case reveals problems in society and the legal system.
