Treat Williams and Sharon Lawrence have been married for many years. They invite their two grown-up sons, Mike (Robert Buckley) and Brandon (Jonathan Bennett), to stay with them for two weeks before Christmas. Mike finds out that his TV show will not continue, and Brandon and Jake are trying to adopt a child, but it hasn’t worked out yet.
