The Furious 2026 Story
It stars Xie Miao as Wei, a Chinese father whose young daughter is kidnapped by traffickers. Wei is mute because of a head injury years ago, but he shows great strength through his actions. Wei teams up with Joe Taslim, who plays the husband of a missing journalist. Together, they race against time to save Wei’s daughter and many other children from a dangerous criminal ring.
The movie stands out because of its Pan‑Asian production. The story is set in a corrupt country where English is the common language. Fans of old action films will recognize Xie Miao. He was the child actor who stole scenes in Jet Li’s ’90s hits, especially My Father is a Hero. Now he’s all grown up, leading the fight in The Furious.
In The Furious, actor Joe Taslim plays a citizen journalist searching for his missing wife. He explains most of the story but also fights hard in the action scenes. His character is the opposite of Wei (Xie Miao), who is silent but full of fury. Together, they battle through endless waves of bad guys.
The climax is unforgettable: a five‑way fight with Miao and Taslim against Yayan Ruhian (from The Raid), Joey Iwanaga, and stuntman Brian Le as the wild card. The movie isn’t perfect. The dialogue feels clunky, the dubbing is obvious, and the budget shows in some scenes. But when it comes to action, director Kenji Tanigaki delivers.
