The Whisper Man Story
The Whisper Man follows Jake Kennedy, a young boy who suddenly goes missing. Jake has been taken by a killer known as the Whisper Man. The police soon discover that mysterious cassette tapes of the killer talking to Jake have been sent to them.
There is one big problem. The original Whisper Man, Frank Carter, is already in prison for life. This means a new person is copying his crimes. Jake’s father Tom becomes desperate to find his son. He turns to his estranged father Pete, a retired detective who caught Frank Carter many years ago.
Tom and Pete discover that their family is connected to the old Whisper Man case in ways they never expected.
They find two bodies hidden inside Tom’s home. One of them belongs to Tony Smith, a former victim of the original Whisper Man. The discovery gives Pete and Tom new clues about what happened to Jake.
Their investigation eventually leads them to Frank Carter’s son, Frank Carter Jr. He has become the new Whisper Man because he wants the approval of his father.
Amanda also discovers the truth while investigating the case. She finds Frank Jr. and tries to save Jake, but the killer attacks her and escapes with the boy.
Pete and Tom follow Frank Jr. to their old home. Pete manages to save Jake, but he is badly injured during the fight. Before he dies, Pete tells his grandson to run. Tom then faces Frank Jr. in a final fight. Frank Jr. falls through a weak part of the attic floor, ending his attack.
In the end, Tom and Jake are together again. They move into Pete’s home and remember him. The movie also reveals a final mystery. Jake’s imaginary friend looks exactly like Tom’s mother when she was a child.
The ending leaves it unclear whether the friend is supernatural or only part of Jake’s imagination.
