Wuthering Heights Movie Story
Catharine considers marrying someone else for her family’s reputation, giving birth to pain and revenge fire in Highcliff’s heart. The story of love, jealousy and conflict between the two creates panic and emotional turmoil in back and forth periods. The story shows how real love is often associated with disappointment, suffering and enormous emotional risk.
In the book, Heathcliff is taken in as a poor orphan by a rich family. He becomes very close to their daughter, Catherine. But people judge him for his background, and social rules pull them apart, which causes the story to end in tragedy.
It is not yet clear how closely director Emerald Fennell will follow the original story. In April 2025, the film’s casting director told Deadline that some fans of English literature may not be happy with the movie’s new take on the classic novel.
