MasterChef Season 16 Story Overview
In Episode 5 of MasterChef: Global Gauntlet Season 16, the judges praised several standout dishes. Gordon Ramsay and Tiffany Derry complimented one preparation for its bold flavor, while Joe Bastianich noted how elevated the execution was. The top dish from the territory of Africa came from Peter, who cooked Yaji‑spiced chicken tenders.
After welcoming the contestants, Gordon Ramsay quickly announces that the tournament is officially starting. In the first round of the competition, the chefs will cook with the members of their own territory or team. Even though they work together, each contestant must prepare their own dish.
The judges will taste the best dishes from every territory. The contestant who makes the best dish of the night will win the MasterChef Immunity Pin. This special pin protects the winner from elimination during the challenge. It will also keep the winner’s entire territory safe from elimination that night.
Gordon also explains that the judges will taste the three weakest dishes from the other territories. One home cook from those groups will then be eliminated from the competition. For this challenge, inspired by the World Cup, contestants must create a more creative and high-quality version of classic stadium food. They have 60 minutes to complete their dishes.
