The show starts with some scary scenes. We don’t understand what is happening. Later, Tae-seop goes to an empty place. He digs something from the ground. Then the story shows the past of Tae-seop and Sang-ah. We learn how they met. Tae-seop was a poor boy. His father died by suicide. Tae-seop wanted revenge and a better life. After this accident, Tae studied hard to become a prosecutor. But only studying was not enough. He tried everything—pleasing seniors and taking risky jobs—just to be important.
One day, luck came. He met Sang-ah. She was once a famous actress. But she lost her fame because of a tax case. Now people dislike her, and she feels old. In the present, Sang-ah meets Yang-mi. Yang-mi is a suspicious woman. She controls things behind the scenes. She promises to help Sang-ah act again.
The death of Jeong‑won is the climax of the story. It is the most important and symbolic part. In the final fight, Sang‑ah wants revenge on Yang‑mi. She asks Jeong‑won to give evidence against Yang‑mi. At first, Jeong‑won does not want to. But later, she is punished for her actions. Her link with Sang‑ah still matters.
A masked man appears. He belongs to Ji‑ho and wants to kill Sang‑ah. At the end, Jeong‑won takes the knife that was meant for Sang‑ah. She kills herself. This is her way of paying for her betrayal. Her death is shown as the price for her lies and tricks.
After Sang‑ah’s reputation declines due to scandal, Tae‑seob realizes that a direct fight with Yang‑mi would be unwise. Instead, he decides to leverage his authority — though it takes time before he makes his decisive move. That moment comes when he uncovers critical evidence proving Yang‑mi’s involvement in illegal activities, using Jeong‑won’s items as cover.
