The backstory adds spice: Kennedy’s wife Cheryl Hines played David’s wife on Curb Your Enthusiasm. David introduced them years ago, but their friendship soured after Kennedy joined Trump’s cabinet.
Director Jeff Schaffer explained the satire. By setting the sketch in the 1950s, the show comments on today’s vaccine debates through history.
