Steven Spielberg is coming back as an executive producer for Gremlins 3, and Chris Columbus, who made the Harry Potter movies, will direct and produce it. The script will be written by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein.
The movie is also being produced by Kristie Macosko Krieger and Holly Bario from Amblin Entertainment, along with Michael Barnathan and Mark Radcliffe from 26th Street Pictures. Right now, no story details or cast members have been revealed. But some information in this movie here .
Gremlins, released on June 8, 1984, was directed by Joe Dante and written by Chris Columbus. The film was produced by Michael Finnell. It stars Zach Galligan, Phoebe Cates, Hoyt Axton, Polly Holliday, and Frances Lee McCain. The cute mogwai Gizmo is voiced by Howie Mandel.
Gremlins 2: The New Batch, the sequel to Gremlins, was released on June 15, 1990. Just like the first movie, it was directed by Joe Dante, with the screenplay written by Charles S. Haas. Actors Zach Galligan, Phoebe Cates, Keye Luke, and Dick Miller all returned to play their original roles.
Work on Gremlins 3 has been going on for many years. In 2013, Warner Bros. talked with Steven Spielberg’s company about bringing the series back, and Seth Grahame-Smith was chosen to help produce it, but the project was paused. In 2015, actor Zach Galligan said the new movie would be a sequel, not a reboot.
The sequel was officially confirmed in April 2025, and in November 2025 it was announced that the movie will release on November 19, 2027, with the script written by Columbus, Zach Lipovsky, and Adam Stein.

Gremlins Story
The full story of Gremlins 3 is still being kept secret. The movie will bring back the world of Mogwai and Gremlins. The first movie followed Billy Peltzer, who received Gizmo as a Christmas gift.
He is told to never shine bright light on it, never get it wet, and never feed it after midnight. When these rules are broken, the Mogwai makes more gremlins, and they destroy Billy’s town during Christmas.
The movie was a big hit and made $212 million worldwide. The sequel, Gremlins 2: The New Batch, came out in 1990. It made less money, around $41 million, but later became a fan favorite.
Warner Bros. said they are very excited to bring Gremlins back for old fans and a brand-new generation. Jesse Ehrman, the head of the studio, said it is an honor to work with Steven Spielberg, Chris Columbus, and the whole team. He said people can look forward to seeing the fun, chaos, and magic of Gremlins on the big screen again in 2027.
Zaslav also talked about how strong Warner Bros. movies were in 2025. Seven movies in a row — like A Minecraft Movie, Sinners, Weapons, and The Conjuring: Last Rites — all opened with more than $40 million, which no other studio has ever done before.
These big wins helped the studio balance out a loss from Paul Thomas Anderson’s movie One Battle After Another, which cost $130 million to make and is expected to lose about $100 million, even though it may get big awards.
About: Gremlins 3
Gremlins 3 continues the comedy‑horror franchise about mischievous creatures called mogwai. If their three care rules are broken—no bright light, no water, and no food after midnight—they transform into dangerous gremlins.
The new film is expected to explore darker themes, including the question of whether Gizmo, the beloved mogwai, should be stopped since all gremlins originate from him.
